REWARD OF KINDNESS

REWARD OF KINDNESS

REWARD OF KINDNESS

The Bible record tells us that David remembered the kindness of Jonathan, the son of King Saul, towards him when he was in distress and ran away from Saul, his master. He thought of the love and kindness that Jonathan showed him despite the fact that he was the king’s son, the heir to the throne. He decided to repay his only son, Mephibosheth. He called him and set him to eat at his table continually. He also commanded his father’s servant to restore to him all that belonged to him (2 Samuel 9 vs. 1-10). 2 Samuel 9 v 1 “And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
2 Samuel 9 v 7 tells us,
“And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.”
Does this look like Gid is talking to someone who is reading this message right now. As you are reading this message, I want you to know that God does not forget. Our God is not a forgetful God. He remembers and takes note of everything we do, either good or bad. He will recompence at His own appointed time.
Child of God, listen to this, where you have labour in the past, the kindness you have shown to people, the support and help you have rendered, but you are not remembered for reward due to one reason or the other. The God who put it in David’s mind to show kindness to Mephbosheth for Jonathan, his father’s sake, will open the book of remembrance unto you for a bountiful reward as we see from today’s scripture.
As CELESTIANS, our hymn encourages us to continue doing good without looking back. Whatever good you know how to do, do it to the best of your ability. Show kindness to people regardless of who they are without waiting for gain or reward from them. Don’t worry because people are not responding to you with the same kindness or love. God is sitted on His Throne of Majesty watching! He will reward you in due season. continue to do good, don’t relent(Galatians 6 v 9). C C C Hymn 429: LABOURE ye on, and not seek ye repose, keep sowing seeds the harvest now cometh…..etc”
Ma sise lo ma se wa isimi, Ma furugbin Oluilore mbo…..etc”
In conclusion, children of God, let’s be careful what we are doing to people in any situation we find ourselves. We can see that Jonathan was not alive to reap the reward of what he had done for David, but David was alive and in position to show kindness to his son in his place. What are we sowing for our children and future generations to reap? Let’s us be guided Galatians 6 v 7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Hebrews 6 v 10
“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
Father, thank You for keeping us. I pray that God who does not forget will remember and reward us for every kindness and goodness we have shown to people. May we not worship in vain. The Spirit and power to do good be endowed upon us in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!

Be Mercifully Blessed.
JESUS IS LORD!
